Ukiah Valley Trail Group Virtual Hike Series Week #2
I had only been out to Mill Creek Park once before, in April of 2010. On that trip I was only able to explore as far as the little picnic spot within feet of the parking area. It was such a beautiful location and I had always wanted to go back and explore further but hadn't had the chance to make the trip out again. So I was, for the second week in a row last Fall, super excited to learn the location of a Ukiah Valley Trail Group series hike. This second hike just happened to be trails through Mill Creek Park, including Ridge Top Trail which at its peak overlooks the beautiful Ukiah valley. Many thanks to Janis for hiking with me again . . . we spent another wonderful morning together enjoying beautiful Fall weather and gorgeous scenery, even though it was pretty smoky due to the Oak Fire that was still burning in the northern part of our county. I'd love to go back and do this one again on a clear day because the photos of the valley from the top of the ridge would be even more beautiful with blue skies and puffy white clouds (and maybe even a sunset).
