City View Trail with Spring ~ Sunday 06.11.23

On Sunday June 11th I went hiking on City View Trail with my friend Spring. This was my first outing as the trail guide and we didn't even get lost (whew)!  It was a gorgeous early summer day with beautiful blue skies and pretty clouds. I really enjoyed her company and hope she had as much fun as I did. I'm looking forward to hiking the trail with her again after the temperatures calm down and maybe eventually working our way up to tackling the trail to the U.

City View Trail ~ Friday + Saturday 06.02.23 + 06.03.23

After my two hikes to the U in May with my hiking group I wanted to test myself to see if I would be able on my own to navigate the trails and find the path that forks off of City View up to the U. I was planning to take more hikes with friends in the near future and would sometimes be leading the way so I decided I better confirm I was sure of the route before I set out with anyone else. With that intent in mind, the first weekend in June I headed out solo on the City View Trail. Thank goodness I planned on practicing because my first outing on Friday was not as successful as I'd hoped. While I didn't get lost and eventually found my way to the path I was looking for, I did miss a turn and ended up having to backtrack to find the cutoff. On Saturday I set out again and this time found my way without problems. Both hikes were peaceful and it was so nice to get out and enjoy the fresh air and beauty of the park.
